Don't know if this will help. but!
« on: Saturday 11 March 06 18:14 GMT (UK) »
I had been trying to find my Barratt ancestors for ages and ages on a 1851 Census.

Decided to put the mother's maiden name Channon in as a first name.  Hey presto found the family on the Ancestry.co.uk site in Wales.   :)

Just go's to show you never give up

I agree Judith,

I never thought of doing that when using variants.  It does just go to show, you never know who's lurking in the census!

Just need to break down another brick wall and I will be a happy lady.  Someone I have been trying to find for years to no avail.
