1861 Census - Essex
« on: Monday 13 March 06 03:14 GMT (UK) »
I'm really kind of stuck on this fellow, and was wondering if anyone could help me out.

I'm looking for a Robert Kemp who was born c. 1858 in Heybridge, Essex and was hoping that the family was still living there for the 1861 census.  Unfortunately, this is all the information I have on him that I can find at the moment, as I don't know his parents, nor brothers or sisters names.

Hello Adeline,
There is not a Robert Kemp in Heybridge.
This is what there is:
Robert Kemp b@ 1853 Sapon Walden, Essex
Robert J Kemp b 1855, Chigwell, Essex

Thanks for taking your time, as its greatly appreciated.  These guys really move around lots!  I'm really have a tough time tracking this guy down.

I checked the 1881 census, and the 'only' Robert Kemp born in 'Essex', was;
Robert Kemp son unmarried 24 years old born in Chris, Essex, Occ., pianoforte maker in London Middlesex.......whom I am unsure of, if it is the same one I'm looking for?

I think Chrissall is a misspelling as I can find no place, and it should probably read Chigwell.

What are the particulars of that census of Robert Kemp in Chigwell?

Thats the same family I was looking at in the 1881 census, yes, Elizabeth is actually quite a bit older than Thomas.  I think this must be my Robert as it only stands to reason.  And can probably locate his birth better now due to this information, because I just couldn't pin point which one he really was.

Thank you very much for helping me.

Thank you,
Adeline

I was going to ask you about something, but please disreguard, I have found that answer.

Thanks again, Adeline
