James McCulloch - New Luce
« on: Monday 04 October 04 19:49 BST (UK) »
I have just come across a newspaper article which includes a photograph of James McCulloch native of New Luce Wigtownshire who joined Ayrshire Police in 1867 retiring from the police to his native New luce in 1899... this may give him a possible birth date in early to mid 1840's

If anyones interested I can forward a copy of the newspaper

Hi Falkyrn,

Just read your message from 4 years ago about James McCulloch, the Ayrshire Police constable.  He was my great great grandfather. I would be interested to see a copy of the newspaper article if you still have it.

Regards

Bill D.

No problem.  The article may have been similar to (or maybe even the same as?) one I obtained a copy of last week - a one page article in the Police Review and Parade Gossip of 3 Nov 1899 - titled "EX-P.C. James McCulloch".  Thanks anyway.
