1851 Census Marsh Chapel - Angelina HARRISON Completed - thanks
« on: Tuesday 05 October 04 10:44 BST (UK) »
I'm looking for any information on an Angelina Harrison possibly in Marsh Chapel. she would be 18 in the 1851 census.

This is the 1841 census

Edward Luddington 75 Ag Lab
Ann Luddington 65
Thomas Luddington 45
Angelina Harrison 8

Edward & Ann are mine. Ann died before the 1851 census & Edward was 93 a pauper blacksmith staying with his dau Ann & son-in-law Michael Sargeant & family.

I am looking to find anything about Edward & the Luddington family. He was born in Barrow but I haven't been able to find his baptism.

He & Ann had five daughters Elizabeth bn & d 1799  Jane bn 1800, Ann bn 1803, Elizabeth bn 1805 & Maria bn 1806 all baptised at Marsh Chapel.

Angelina may therefore be a grandchild, daughter of either Jane, Elizabeth or Maria.

Edward & Ann married in 1793 at Marsh Chapel so Thomas Luddington could well be their son as there is a gap between 1793 & 1799. His baptism is not recorded at Marsh Chapel.

If anyone has a 1851 index of the area I would be very grateful for a lookup for Angelina Harrison, Thomas Luddington & also Joseph Luddington (25 in the 1841 census, living at Marsh Chapel & possibly a son of Thomas). Neither Thomas or Joseph were listed in the 1851 Marsh Chapel census.

The IGI has an Angelina Harrison c23.3.1833 Holy Trinity, Hull by a William & Mary Luddington but can't find a link so far.

Any help would be gratefully received.

I'd be looking at Edward bap 1767, Waltham son of Richard and Ann , given that R&A had multiple kids in Waltham 1754-1771, then maybe another (Rebecca) in Barrow, 1774.

I have some connection ,I think, in that I descend from Michael Sargent's father, also Michael , b 1756.

Hi John

Thanks for that.

We are related as you say  ;D

Perhaps we could compare notes.

Children of Michael Sargeant & Ann Bullivant:

Elizabeth, Mary, John, Ann, Joseph, Susanna, Sarah, Michael, Hannah & Henry.

Joseph & Mary died in infancy so are you perhaps descended from either John or Henry? I have found very little on the above children other than Michael's line & some information on Elizabeth who married Charles Bray. I have some parish register info., baptisms, burials, marriages etc which if you haven't already got you may be interested in.

Regards
