Warner/Sadler
« on: Thursday 16 March 06 22:48 GMT (UK) »
Hi
Hope this is the right place for this! I am trying to find out about my grandparents Dorothy Mary Warner 21/03/04 - maiden name Sadler.  She was one of seven children, their names were Harold, Nick, Reginald, George, Ted, Jack.  She was married to Frank Victor Warner born in c1902.  He had two brothers called Charles and Dick.
Could anyone help?

Hi Lorryloo

Have you any idea where these events took place?

Could your grandfather have been born a bit earlier say 1900?

1901

82 Gloucester Road, St Pancras, London

Charles F WARNER head mar 33 trooper 2nd life guards b.Henley on Thames, Oxon
Sarah A wife 30 b.Newbury Berkshire
Annie dau 11 b.Watlington Oxon
Richard T son 6 b.Chelsea London
Frank V son 10m b.Regents Park London

Rg13/133 folio 82 page 93

Do you happen to know when Frank Victor died?  Perhaps we could confirm his "birthdate" from the death indexes?

Thanks for the quick reply.  Frank died on the 18th March 1960, he may have come from somewhere in the london area.  The Sadlers came from somewhere in the Cambs area.

I see that Frank's death certificate lists age 58 :-\

Have you looked for his marriage http://www.ancestry.co.uk?

Do you know when/where either of his brothers died? If it was post 1969 then their date of birth should be in the indexes (link as above).

Hi there
Thanks for your help.  I looked at the link you suggested, I could only find a Dorothy M Sadler marrying someone else in 1928 in Fulham!  I couldn't find Frank's name anywhere and couldn't find a birth registered for Dorothy anywhere either.  I did mange to find Frank's death and yes he was only 58. :(
This all may be me looking in the wrong places as I have only just started to do this.
I know Frank's brother was a monk at Alton Abbey, Alton, Hants, he died there but I don't know when.  His other brother Dick has also died but I don't know when that was either.
My grandparents had their only son  Brian  in 1934.

As such a novice at this I really appreciate your help,

Lorryloo

freeBMD does show that that Frank V was a Frank Victor and there is no other Frank Victor on the freeBMD index (yet).  If the marriage certificate shows father Charles I think casalguidi has the right man - death certificates not being the most trustworthy of resources sometimes!

There's a Dorothy Mary Sadler b. in Linton district in June q. 1904 which mostly covers Cambridgeshire (+ some parts of Essex).

So do you mean the family in your first reply is very likely to have been my grandads family, thats interesting as noone has ever mentioned a sister, I can see me getting hooked on this!
