URIDGE

Hi,   I am researching the name of URIDGE in Buxted, Sussex.

I have an ELIZABETH URIDGE marring WILLIAM PAGE in 1752.  However, I have not been able to locate a birth entry for Elizabeth.  The only one around the time is for an Elizabeth Uridge born in London.

Can anyone assist with the name?   Thanks.     Marie in Sydney

Hi Marie,
I was going to say before Andy did it for me that I've often seen this name written as EURIDGE, and I think there's a One Name Study for the name also.
The marriage for Elizabeth as on the Sussex Marriage Index is as follows,


 Buxted, East Sussex,  Date: 28 Jul 1752:
 Elizabeth URIDGE
 William PAGE, Uckfield

Buxted might be a good place to start for her baptism,

I have seen this website, some time ago, but will go back and have a good browse for anything updated.

Unfortunately, Elizabeth's baptism is not in the records at Buxted.  I will keep trying to locate her.
