I think that marriage you found is about the best bet there is for parents. Marion said that Moses was baptised in St Davids in Bettws and i have the complete list on its way to me so i can check on that but i think you have found them for him. Only 8 Maddocks males married in Llangynwyd around these dates and no others fit at all with regards to names (Xantippe as a christian name being one!!!l).
Moses' 2 Daughters had the illegitimate children just to clear that up. Too many similar names here for my weary mind.

Mary was born in 1811 ,talking about similar names I've got 24 Thomas Thomas's 12 Jenkin Thomas's 13 Elizabeth Thomas's 12 William Thomas's 12 John Thomas's 10 Ann Thomas's ,all were either farmers ,or farmers children that became farmers or married farmers and all had farms within a 10-14 mile radius ,its mind-boggling, the only good thing about it ,they only had to shout someones name and they were guaranteed someone would come running with the same name !!!!!  Marion

I know the feeling when it comes to THOMAS' as thats why i am having so much trouble finding the right ones.
I think the marriage Cas found is a pretty good bet for Moses' parents but when the other records for Bettws arrive i will check the detail for you against his baptism
As for Mary i am at a loss. The only thing i can suggest is to contact the Glamorgan record office who published these records with Glam fhs and see if they have any extra detail from the original. It does say in the book that its only a finding guide and that individual registrations can be purchased.

Thanks Karren ,I'll try there I'm not holding out much hope for Moses either been trying to find him a long time ,I know he had brothers ,but some of the records are not very plain ,there is an Aaron born in the early 1800's and a Daniel ,they are all bible names are they brothers  think so   but no proof as of yet ,thanks for helping me ,much appreciated      :DMarion

There is a daniel baptised 1804 with a father Rees and mother Ann but no age or address for him. Also a Rees with the same parents baptised 1801 address Blaengwynfi.
I will keep looking for you as the records arrive so if i find anything i will let you know.
