Taken from 1861 census in great harwood information on William Standen from Great Huberts Street. He was my Great Great grandad. I have him when he was 10 living with his father James Standen in 1851 in Clayton Le Moors.
I am trying to find any information on James Standen from 1851 backwards when he would have been about 18 living in Clayton le moors.

Any info that you have which could help me would be most appreciated.

hey jude
I can't find William and James for the ages you give for 1851. I'm confused ??? ??? :D In your first request you said you have them back to 1871 then later 61 and/or 51 - would you clarify which it is please? If you give William and James approximate year of birth that will eliminate confusion.
Cheers Jan ;)

Ok the info that i have ,sorry if it is confusing i am trying to understand it myself. My Great grandad was born around 1871 and had 4 children one of them my gran. I found info about him that his father was William. In 1871 he was 20 and then again in 1861 was 10, 1851 was 7 months. His father was 37 in 1871 and backwards.
In 1851 I have him has 28. I don't know if this helps you in any way, really interesting wish i knew him!

Hi again
I've found William with father James mother Elizabeth in 51 and 61, however there is another William Standen of about the same age born Clayton Le Moors who has father John and mother Lucy in 1861 at RG9/3090/8 Pg9 - do you already have confirmation that your William's father is James? If not you will need to get his marriage certificate to confirm which William is yours. I think the 2 Williams are most likely cousins as the two families are nextdoor neighbours in 1851. I assume you have access to the images if not let me know and I will post details.

Cheers Jan ;)
