1871 Lincoln Census Request, BROWN.
« on: Thursday 07 October 04 11:58 BST (UK) »
Can some please look for a John William Brown on this census.

John should be 3yrs old (ish) because we think he was born in 1868. I cant tell you much more other than his father should be Robert Brown.

Any info would be great.

Thanks.

Hi,

There are lots of John Brown's on the census for Lincolnshire.  Have you any clues as to which part of Lincolnshire they may be found in?

Hi Sue,

All I can say is that the 1891 census return (kindly provided by Nicky, details bellow) show that he was born in Lincoln, Lincolnshire. He has been realy hard to track down so far so any help would be great.

Thanks

Carl

Hi,

no luck I'm afraid.  I tried various combinations in searching, looking for a John Brown age 5 or under with father Robert and drew a blank each time.  There are quite a few John's there, but none that fit the criteria.  Maybe if you get more information in the future it might make him easier to find.

Sue,

The only other thing we can come up with is this:-

When John got married in 1893 his father (Robert) was deceased. Maybe he died just after John was born. Are there any John William Browns living with their mother who is widowed?

Thanks.

We cant find him on the 1901 census. We know he was posted with the armed forces in either Ireland or Egypt.

His wifes name was Annie Eva Hamilton.

Thanks.
