1841 census look-up request - Curtis
« on: Thursday 30 March 06 16:44 BST (UK) »
I'd be grateful for a look-up for John Curtis born c.1780.

He died in 1843 and was buried in Barnetby le Wold churchyard, so I would expect him to be in or around Barnetby in 1841.

His wife was Henrietta (nee Hunsley) - they married in 1802 in Wootton but I have no other details of her.

Thanks for any help.

Jo.

Thanks for the look-up Geoff.

So it looks like John's wife Henrietta died prior to 1841, and the Henry aged 60 (who I presume is a brother) will perhaps give me a clue as to the correct baptism for John.

Sarah aged 20 will be John's daughter Sarah Hunsley Curtis who was baptised in 1819 in Barnetby-le-Wold.

Much appreciated,

Jo.  :)

Just realised I've misread Henny as Henry - so this is probably Henrietta ??

Henny was female ... it was my best guess at what it said - I'd guess it was probably your Henrietta.
