Hi David

You have amongst your surname interests, Bone and Harrison.

I have gone back as far as my 3 x gr grandfather on my fathers side,
Richard Harrison b1797 in Elslack, Yorkshire and they then move to Irton in Cumberland.

My Bone research comes from Maggie Bone marrying Joshua Rooney from Egremont in Cumberland in 1907 who were my gr grandparents also on my fathers side.

Thank you for your time.

Regards

Hi Half Pint,

First allow me to apologise for the delay in responding, I have had a few computer troubles!!

Unfortunately my Harrisons start out in Worcestershire before ending up in Warwickshire and my Bones come from Hampshire. So I don't think there is any connection unfortunately!

David

Hi Sharleen,

At the present time I'm not sure if there is a connection as yet, however I'm not writing off the possibility!!

Where was your Henry Spink (father of Robert) born? And when?

I have got similar names in my Spink family i.e William, George, Robert etc., whether this means anything or not I don't know!

Regards,

David

Hi David

This is all I have on the family so I will post it but I have not researched that side too much.  I think I came to a bit of a dead end.  I am always hopeful that someone else is looking at them as well.  My main interest was that Robert Spink married my maternal grandmothers grandmother.

Anyway this is what I have.

Robert Spink chr. 18 Feb 1810 Bilbrough, father Henry Spink, mother Ann Waud/Ward who marr. 10 Jun 1798 Bilbrough.
Other children for them in random order:
Henry chr. 9 Mar 1806 Bilbrough.
Edward chr. 23 Jun 1800 Bilbrough
George chr. 16 Aug 1807 Bilbrough.
George chr. 2 Aug 1812 Bilbrough.
Thomas chr. 12 Jan 1819 Bilbrough
William chr. 3 Jan 1802 Bilbrough.

Hope this clarifies things better for you.

Hi Sharleen,

Right where to start?  It seems I made an assumption as to where my Spink family came from, they definately came from East Yorkshire, just not where I thought!!

Allow me to explain - my 5x Gt Grandfather John Spink married Jane Sproxton on 1st Nov 1788 in Hutton Cranswick, not to far from Bridlington. This now turns out to be the bride, Jane's parish and not that of the groom John Spink although they do settle there after marriage! So all that this proves is that I don't know for sure where my Spink's are from, so this is going to need quite a bit of further investigation particularly as typing in 'John Spink' into the IGI gives me 40+ choices, Arghhh!!

But it is more than possible that we do join up somewhere along the line, I shall keep checking and let you know if I find anything!!

I have had a little look at the info that you posted and have found a little more info for you, forgive my repeating what you already have, but I'm doing it this way to make sure that I don't miss anything!

Henry Spink m Ann Waud 10th Jun 1798 Bilbrough

they had 10 children as follows:

Edward Spink Chr 23rd Jun 1800 Bilbrough, to Henry Spink & Ann Waud
William Spink Chr 3rd Jan 1802 Bilbrough to Henry Spink & Ann Waud
Henry Spink Chr 9th Mar 1806 Bilbrough to Henry Spink & Ann Waud
George Spink Chr 16th Aug 1807 Bilbrough to Henry Spink & Ann Waud
Robert Spink Chr 18th Feb 1810 Bilbrough to Henry Spink & Ann Waud
George Spink Chr 2nd Aug 1812 Bilbrough to Henry Spink & Ann Waud
Thomas Spink Chr 12th Jan 1819 Bilbrough to Henry Spink & Ann
Henry Spink Chr 28th June 1824 Bilbrough to Henry Spink & Ann
Mary Spink Chr 8th Oct 1826 Bilbrough to Henry Spink & Ann
John Spink Chr 29th June 1830 Bilbrough to Henry Spink & Ann

Henry Spink Chr 16th Jan 1774 Wighill to Edward Spink & Ann Allen

Edward & Ann married in 1768 in Wighill. Edward b about 1743 and Ann b about 1748 both in Wighill.

Wighill is very close by to Bilbrough and the fact that Henry's first born son is named Edward leads me to suspect that this could well be Henry's parent's!

If I find anything else I'll let you know.

Regards,

David

Hi David

Thanks for the additional information.  I would love to find out more if you stumble across them in your search. I will try and do some following up as well.  I do have have in  my possession the marriage certificate of Robert Spink and Tamar Gatenby.

I notice you also have Hudson in your list of names.  My maiden name is Hudson, however, I pick up that part of my family line in Sydney Australia, and they somehow moved out to South Africa in the late 1800's early 1900's.  If you have any interest there, I have a little bit of information on that side of the family.

Have a great evening and thanks for the additional information, I do appreciate it.
