The only info I have is that he died 16 October 1896, possibly in Auckland. More than likely he came from Lincolnshire.  Not much to go on I'm afraid but if I don't ask I won't find out.
There would probably be the names Ealham and/or Wright in the family.
If anyone is researching this name and can help me, I would appreciate it.

There is an 1896 probate file listed for a William Pratt - Springston - farmer, at Archives NZ Christchurch.  Nowhere near Auckland but if you wanted to check this one out you could email the relevant council which I think is Selwyn District Council? and get them to check their cemetery records.

Thank you.  I only said Auckland because the Auckland Weekly News had been mentioned by my source.  I will try now to get a copy of that probate document.

I had a look in our library today and


1896
William PRATT    2094   and that number means Dec Q Christchurch. NZ

so that is where he died.
