Vancouver Newspaper Lookup 1963-1967

I have the microfilm coming in for the Vancouver Newspaper for the years 1963 to 1967.  If anyone has an obituary they would like looked up and knows roughly the date, let me know.  They should be here in the next week or two.

Oh that's too bad Bob, if you want I can order in the year that you need and look for you, now that I know what I am doing with the inter-library loan system and The National Archives, it's simple.

I would be really grateful , if you could do a look up for me .

John Edward James , died at Victoria , Vancouver Island , on October 23rd 1966 . aged 78 He was a British born , Canadian citizen , who served in the RCMP . I feel certain there may have been a obit for him , but a death announcement would be great

His widow , Ethel Margaret James , died October 28th 1974 , again at Victoria , aged 86 . She was also born in England . I would love to know if they had children , I have no idea when they married , but feel they may have tied the knot , quite late in life.......

I have looked , when in Vancouver for this information , but unfortunately I am waiting for a operation , on my eyes (22nd June ) so may have missed it !!

Have been trying for sometime to find when & where my ancestors died.

Found these and could be my Great Aunt & Great Uncle. George Campbell Moffat & Jane Moffat (nee MacKay)

Jane MacKay Moffat - 2 January 1968 aged  92  Vancouver

George Campbell Moffat  24 June 1974 aged 95  Vancouver

George & Jane were born in Scotland 1877/1878.

That's a pity.

Don't know where is to try. Have sent so many e-mails to different places in Canada, requesting help. But with no replies.

Any information would have helped, as I was thinking of going to Cananda, next. A long way to on ones own, though.

I have recently returned from Vancouver . The staff in the Public Library there , are absolutely wonderful ......But better still , are the staff at the British Columbia Archives email adress

I am sure it would be worth contacting them . They were just brilliant , in fact they were so good , we didn.t have to do anything !! and we were there !

This one was in Victoria , Vancouver Island . I know there is one in Vancouver itself

Thank you very much for the addresses.

That is nice to hear the  staff in the public library were wonderful. Makes all the hard work searching, worth while.

I seem to be getting no where. Would very much like to visit Canada, but going on ones own is a daunting thought, more so, when one doesn't know where to start.

So, I will e-mail the the British Columbia Archives and library.
