« on: Saturday 01 April 06 12:31 BST (UK) »
This another photo I received yesterday and I would like a date if possible

The detailsof the card (very thinck) are on the reverse as well as the front and states that the company was established in 1864

Thanks in advance

At a guess I'd say anywhere between 1900 and 1920 (judging by the clothes) may be way off though!

Going by the style of dress I would say that it was taken after 1892. It has a high neck line, pleated front, and what appears to be leg of mutton sleeves with the cuff stopping short of the wrist. This type of dress was worn up to at least 1910 when the neck line was lowered slightly and blouse and skirt combo's started to be the fashion. The man's  jacket also points me to a date around about the late 1890's to about 1905. It is not high buttoned as they were in the 1880's to 1890's and has a cut to it that says clerk or shop worker rather than a labourers attire (although saying that I am not suggesting that this was his occupation). His short hair and facial hair also suggests a period between 1900 to the first world war.

So with all these dates being thrown around I would suggest that it was taken between 1895 to 1914 but more nearer to 1900.

So much info to work witht here

The funny thing is that the family I think (hope) is the one we are looking at were Clerks and Book keepers for a Brewery in Liverpool

So will try and work out which one of the family it may be.

Thanks again

Hi carol,
I'm with Rowley on this...probably around late 1890s/1900.
Lovely photo!  Looks like baby was wriggling a bit, though  :)
