Thomas in 1841/1851 Census
« on: Sunday 02 April 06 06:36 BST (UK) »
Hi, can anyone oblige with a look-up in the 1841 and 1851 census. Looking for William Thomas, a Potter, possibly living in High St. Swansea. He would have been born between 1790 / 1800. His daughter Ann may have been with him (b 1822c) in the 1841 census.
Thanks for any help.

Hi MDW,

This is not much to go on.

I can see this in 1851:
HO107/2466 432 40 & 41
Mathew Street Swansea

William Thomas, head, 56 Potter, b. Swansea
Margaret, wife, 52, b. do.
David son, unm, 26, Potter, b. do.
James, son, unm, 21, Compositor, b. do.
Margaret, dau, 18, b. do.
Elizabeth, dau, 16, b. do.
Edward, son, 12, Errand boy, b. do.

Having another look for other possibles.

Hi Tati,

That looks very encouraging. Mathew St. is just off High St. so I feel pretty confident that you have hit on the right family. Thanks a million.
