Three cheers for Carmarthen Reg. Office!
« on: Monday 03 April 06 17:10 BST (UK) »
I'm sure I'm not telling you locals anything you don't already know, but I think the Registry Offices for Carmarthen are great.  Thanks to them I have just ordered three certificates painlessly and stress free and know they are correct BEFORE I have received them.

I rang the Carmarthen Reg. Office simply to find out whether I had the correct office, instead they took the details I had and within seconds confirmed they had the certificate I wanted and then said I could order it on the telephone!  They then told me to ring the Llanelli office for the other certificates I wanted and again all confirmed on the phone, mother's name, father's name the lot.

I'm so pleased I just had to say something - if you have ever tried to locate a London birth/marriage you'll understand my excitement.  Why can't all Registry Offices be like this?  Well done Carmarthen.

Regards
Sandie

Not local to Carmarthen, but I might have mentioned before( ;)) that the Welsh registry offices are excellent ;D
Stiff - Monmouthshire & Glos, Parry - Monmouthshire
Stafford - Glos, Liles - Glos, Bright- Glos, Webb - Monmouthshire & Glos, Smart - Glos, Smith - Glos
Sullivan - Ireland, Jones (oh dear! Almost as bad as Smith), Walker - Somerset, Llewellyn
And, no don't laugh...Crump...I think it's great!

And of course, if I ever do manage to do a successful look up it is crown copyright and all that legal stuff!

;D I can also say that they are the most pleasant, friendly and very helpful register office I have dealt with,   they confirmed my cert for me before i bought it and it arrived two days later to Scotland.
    A big thankyou
to Mellisa a member of staff for all her help. More offices like this needed!   Romangirl

Just to say when I called in at Carmarthen in late June 2013 to check records and old newspapers the people were as helpful as they possibly could be. The people in Pembs. are very nice to deal with as well.
