« on: Tuesday 04 April 06 10:49 BST (UK) »
Seeking any assistance or advice available to locate info regarding my 3xggrandfather John GREEN who is beleived to have been born abt. 1808.
His Trial Records indicate"Late of the Parish of Saint Lawrence in the Borough of Reading in the County of Berks"
Standing Number                      29 / 778
   Name         John  GREEN   2
   Ship         Mellish
   Master         VINCENT
   Year         1829
   Native Place      Oxfordshire
   Trade or Calling      Laborer
   Offence         Stealing Poney
   Sentence         Life
   Year of Birth      1808
   Height         5 feet 5 3/4 inches
   Complexion      Dark  ruddy
   Hair         Brown
   Eyes         Light  Hazel
General Remarks      Horizontal Scar over right eye & small one above.

The subject of the theft apparently belonged to a Samuel PALMER. I assume that he was a farmer in the area of St Lawrence.

The names of the Jurors Sworn were John Belcher - Johnathon Butteridge - Benjamin Blackman - Francis Clarke - Joseph Corderoy - John Faulkner - Benjamin Finch - Joseph Fruin - Richard Higgs - William Higgs - John Hissey - Edward Howse.

I would certainly appreciate any info on any of the persons listed, in particular John GREEN.

I don't know if John had any siblings nor do I know anything of his life or other family in the UK.

Cheers
Len
