you really need to look at their marriage cert it will give you the name of both fathers and their occupations

Thank's for all the name's audrey, my sister found out what our GG name was {Thomas and he had a farm, I think it was in Ballynakill.

I have searched every thing I have can find no reference that would help you I have tried the 1901 census which has just gone on line don't know if they are complete yet found no reference to James or Thomas McCarthy perhaps some one in Ireland can help

You have been a great help, my sister has been in touch with a parish near where he might of got married but  she had no luck, we could do with the luck of the Irish now. LOL ;D
