If you PM me on Friday I will try to look it up for you at the weekend.  But I wouldn't be too confident that there was actually an inquest - have you got the death certificate?  It usually says on that whether there was an inquest.  Even if there was, it may not have been reported.
Godden in East Sussex, mainly Hastings area.
Richards in Lea, Gloucestershire, then London.
Williamson in Leith, Vickers in Nottingham.
Webb in Bildeston and Colchester.
Wesbroom in Kirby le Soken.
Ellington in Harwich.
Park, Palmer, Segar and Peartree in Kersey.

hi there,
thanks for replying. Yes i have death certificate and it states that an inquest was held on the 12/13th july 1885.  I was interested in  the main hull newspapers of that day. Only know of the Hull Daily Mail but dont know that first appeared in print

Hi

You could contact East Riding Archive and ask whether they have survivng coroners inquests for 1885. If they have survived and are indexed they may be able to copy them for you, although I would expect there would be a fee for this.

http://www.eastriding.gov.uk/libraries/archives/index.html

They may even still have the asylum records which may cover admission, it may be worth asking them whether they have these records as your Henry Tabottom may be included here.

Ask them whether they know where they are kept if they don't hold them

Good luck
