Hi Ann  :D

Does this look like his birth?

Samuel A Wedgbury, December quarter 1911, Solihull, 6d 1171, mother's maiden name Prince
(there isn't any match in the previous quarter)

Marriages December quarter 1910
Samuel A Wedgbury to Eliza Prince

Doesn't fit too well, does it?  :-\  :-\

Hi Tanja..

To the resuce again, THANK YOU.....

You were quick

I Think its a good match... they could have married after having alice..

Often fathers and sons have the same name, even the same middle name, so hard  for people trying to trace them, did they not think of that, lol lol. ;)

they both must have been only 16 when having alice, so maybe they waited till they were 20.

thanks again. give me another name to work on...

best wishes
Ann  ( did you see my 300) lol lol

have had a much better day today , thank goodness. just about off to bed, cant keep my eyes open

Well, never mind. Go to sleep and I'll see what I can find out about these 2 in the meantime.

birth of Alice Wedgbury;

1908 OND quarter Birmingham (nothing in 1907)

So they werent quite as young as thought.

Getting her birth cert would see whether her mum was Prince. if so it would link the info that has been found re the Prince marriage to the info you already had, and so confirm the new info was the right famliy ( or not... as the case may be)

Hmm. Would Alice have been born a Wedgbury if she was born before the marriage? I agree with Liz, there's 7£ to spend again  :P

Hmm. Would Alice have been born a Wedgbury

Been thinking about this one. I guess she could have been registered as Wedgbury if Dad was there to confirm paternity.
Mum's name will either be Miss Prince - or she may tell a porkie pie and pretend she is Mrs Wedgbury nee Prince. (Assumimg of course the parents of Alice are the couple you found. If completely different names crop up it will be back to the drawing board! Either way I think getting Alice's birth cert is the way to proceed.)
