Rees (publican) and William (blacksmith)are living next door to each other in Oddfellows Row and Oddfellows Arms.  Elizabeth dau, is aged 23 born c1848 not age 6

Hope this has helped

Thats great. Thanks for your help. Its so confusing when you have details that almost match and then you find something else that is possible. The details you found match my 1851 details but i didnt know Mary's maiden name or that there was a son prior to 1851!!! I can now safely disregard the initial find for 1861 and continue with the details you have found. Apparently Rees' mother was Tydfil which is an unusual name that i had not heard before but my cousin had got all confused and said it was his wife which confused matters even more!!
Thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!

Heres the marriage

Evan Griffiths married Ditfill Hopkin on 22 Nov 1806 in Pyle/Kenfig Parish - both from this parish

Ditfill was misspelt or mistranscribed for Tydfil I believe.  Nothing else fits.

******************************

Evan & Tydfil are still alive in 1851

Thanks emsgirl but the Rees i was looking for had to have a son called William born circa 1843. Thanks for trying though, it appears you hit the same problem as i did!!!
Thanks Cas for the Tydfil info. What an unusual name!! I have not heard that one before!!!!
Many thanks again to all as i would still be searching for marriages that did not exist and tearing my hair out over names that did not match at all!!!
