Norfolk Villas, Cheshunt
« on: Sunday 09 April 06 14:50 BST (UK) »
Does anyone know where Norfolk Villas in Cheshunt is/was?

It's an address given on the 1881 census records and I would dearly like to locate it.

Many thanks

Lyndsey

Hi Lyndsey  :)

I have had a look on the census and it would seem that Norfolk Villas was located on King Edward Road, other nearby streets include Queens Road and Eleanor Road. On a modern map, these streets are just to the left of Cheshunt Marsh, try www.streetmap.co.uk and it will show you. On www.old-maps.co.uk if you look up Waltham Cross, you will see Eleanor Road an inch above the word Waltham.

Hope this helps!

Hi Millerina

Many thanks for the info and,  yes, it is very helpful!

I live within walking distance of King Edward Road! I don't recall any building works going on in the last 20 or so years, so maybe the original houses are still there! I'll be off to look at the first chance I get!

Thanks again.

Lyndsey
