British Isles Vital Records Index

I have the British Isles Vital Records Index 1st Edition from the FamilySearch.org Site (Latterday Saints)

I see there is a 2nd edition, but I'm reluctant to buy it as I have never found a single relative on the first (Although I have found many on the FREE website).

Does anyone own the 2nd edition, and is it any good?

Hi Anita I have the 2nd edition and I have found quite a few of my relations on it that aren't on Familysearch. It depends on the area you want, mine are in Northumberland.  If you post who you are looking for someone can look for you,   Jabawak

My problem is that I like to browse them too, and try different places or name spelling. I can't expect people to want to do that for me.

Nothing beats that 'get your answers now' feeling either :)

Hi

I've got the 2nd Edition. I've found lots of my Scottish relatives on it and my husband's Wiltshire ancestors. It really depends on which area. it's very poor for Wales.

I see it has a few Irish records.

How much is it Please and what address do you send to?  I can never find this info on the LDS site

I think if you click on one of the tabs at the top - publications -  it takes you to the right place. I phoned up their main office in Birmingham (phone no given there), gave my plastic and received it very quickly. it didn't cost much - 4-5 year ago I think.
