Hi Jennifer, Just to keep you encouraged, I have no idea where these Kings locate at any time, but family tree’s  exist for KING lines at Volumes 5p103, 12? 13? 17? N, 86 at the Linen Hall Library, Belfast.   I suggest you ask them for photocopying estimates if they think your knowledge relevant and be prepared to pay the extra for post and packing. However if the material is really relevant when you get it, I suggest a further donation to this unique library that is always needing extra funds. Linen Hall Library,17 Donegall Square North, Belfast BT15GB, Northern Ireland, Telephone: +44 (0)28 9032 1707,  Fax: +44 (0)28 9043 8586, Email:info@linenhall.com. Whatever you know try using their book catalogue for titles about that the name and area.

Ros Davies website ie freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~rosdavies/  Ros Davies is just County Down Search. Use the site for surname(s), placenames, churches and maps under the surnames. The parish maps showing townlands.  She also has a database Roll Call of the research interests of subscribers to rootsweb.com.  ie the Co. Down newsgroup. For Kings you need to look them up yourself but for example  -Samuel KING . Donaghcloney regt. Waringstown; husband of Mary Watson ; father of John b. 18 May 1869  CR . Samuel KING . Dromara of Dunmore; searching for his brother Williamm James Ramsey King who emigrated to Australia; message posted 21 Jan 1893 ; brother found, notice withdrawn 11 Feb 1893 BWN . Don’t forget her copyright notice please.

Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints sponsors the website www.familysearch.com.  There is much to learn as to how to use it to its maximum. You can search for just the records for a surname in Ireland. The missing search element for you is the place associated. Its library catalogue and CD collections are worth investigating. I have not found errors myself, but other genealogists say it isnt 100% accurate and one needs to check the information at source.[As one should do anyway]. There are more than 50 Samuel Kings in Ireland

Ulster Historical Foundation ie www.ancestryireland.co.uk/ If you use their search system, you will get a report which starts with Birth records for Antrim and Down,  then Marriage records for Antrim and Down , then Irish ancestors being researched (members interests), then Distribution of Surnames in Ulster ( 9 counties) in the mid-1800’s [ie Mathesons Database] , then Ulster Historical Foundation Research Files  and so on. You can look up say the births and you will get first names and a year and a county, only then do you have to pay to view the entry to get any more detail. In the marriage section. I have learnt to match the dates shown for husband and spouse, thus reducing the possible marriage dates, nevertheless you then need to check it out. Members interests could contain your family being researched already.  The UHF has a sister website accessible ‘ History from Headstones’ here is a great first line of knowledge, you search by county and surname, again at some point you you have to pay to view the entry to get any more detail. It’s a little bit irritating when one knows they have published all the Co Down series edited by RSJ Clarke. Nevertheless they are another stressed charity in NI. Heres a glimpse for Samuel King entries,
Birth records for Antrim and Down - Sign posting Index  11
Marriage records for Antrim and Down - Sign posting Index  17
Irish ancestors being researched (members interests)  0
Distribution of Surnames in Ulster ( 9 counties) in the mid-19th century -- Mathesons Database  203
Ulster Historical Foundation Research Files  11
Index to 1796 Flaxgrowers Bounty List (giving parish locations)  9
Murders in Ireland 1842 - 46  1
Ulster Gravestone Inscription Surname-Firstname Index  3
Fasti of the Presbyterian Church  1
Index to Printed Irish Will Calendars 1878-1900 (covering all Ireland)  9
Prerogative Will Index 1536 - 1858 Tyrone  2
Subscribers to Samuel Lewis' Topographical Dictionary  2

I need to stop here, theres plenty more sites eg PRONI etc, I hope you get a start, best regards Jim

Jennifer, I have just twigged you live in Belfast area. Your husband should visit the Linenhall Library. They have books about the quakers in Ireland, and might have a book that contains references to the King family. Dont bother acknowledging, and more good luck in the quest. Jim
