Kelly, (and others)
The four girls fostered by John Bradshaw and his wife, Louisa, were Isabella (nee Golby Edmonds), Gladys May (Farmer), Sylvia Jean (Graham ) and Daisy Jean (Coxhead). I have had contact with a daughter of Gladys (who married Arthur T. Firth and had four children) and never talked about her childhood and the son of Sylvia (who married Frank Humphries and had three sons).
Gladys and Sylvia were adopted (adoption didn't start until the mid 1910s) and both became "Bradshaws".
My great grandfather Thomas Bradshaw seems to have had a falling out with his mother who remarried shortly after the death of his father. (He fell to his death from the tower of the Sydney GPO in 1885 when they were dismantling the scaffolding.) So we never heard about or met either his brother or sister or any of their children. Strange isn't it? My father, an only child, passed away in 1984 so I can't check with him.
I didn't know about John Bradshaw until the wife (now deceased) of Arthur Humphries contacted me via GenesReunited, to see what info I might have had about Arthur's mum Gladys). So it all came as a surprise to me. None of the "children" I have contacted have any clues as to how the fosterings came about and so forth. John and Louisa had no natural offspring, Louisa had some children from a previous marriage. Some of these may have lived with John and Louisa, but no-one knows.
Hope this clears some things up.
