Jen.

Could I ask you if you would know the name of the hospital in Swansea, that people from  Eigen Cres would have had treatment in the 1940's..

At first hand I would say The old Swansea Hospital, this was located on St Helens Road (across the road from the famous Joe's Ice Cream Palour). The grounds now house a nursing home (I believe)
See the link, the 1st hospital listed is the one I am speaking of:

Found this webpage relating to 1891:

In 1948 Mount Pleasant Hospital opened (it used to be Tawe Lodge Workhouse) so it is possible they went to this one also.

I assume you are looking into Gladys Stentiford's death (long illness patiently borne): If you are trying to find out more information it may be worth your while contacting the archives (see Hospital link within):

Hi Jen. :)

You read my thoughts. yes it was concerning Gladys, after watching Bill Oddie get some old medical records, I thought it might be worth a try, but how ever if its the 100 yrs thingy!!!! >:( I won't be able to do that, I have only the one cousin and she knows nothing about our nans illness.

Never mind, but it did get me thinking.. ???

Thank you again.

Regards Pat

Yes good point to note!, is it different though as he was trying to find some information out about his depression? perhaps the doctors allowed it as it was in his interest.

who knows!  ???!

Even so, it may be worth contacting the archives, you never know something may come your way.
