Does anyone know anything about a boarding schoolon Broad Street In Cuckfield in the 1880's? Two of my rellies were there and I am hoping to find some old registers or the like.

There were several schools in Broad St. If you contact the Cuckfield Musuem they can probably tell you more. There is a book about education in Cuckfield. In "Cuckfield in 1897" by Alan Miller it says
"Warden Court was a Boarding School for young ladies run by Mrs Alfred White".
Warden Court house was pulled down some 30 odd years ago and it is now a road of rather select houses off Broad Street.

Andrea,
Thanks for the reply, and sorry for taking so long to say thank you!
I will contact Cuckfield Museum ASAP to find out if they can help at all.
Thanks again.
