Looking for any information on 2 brothers.... Richard Joseph Phillips B-1901 and William Thomas Phillips B- 1902 both in Meer Longton, Staffordshire, England. The father was Richard Phillips and the mother was Emma Elizabeth Phillips maiden name was Shaw. They came to the US in 1904 and 1905 and can`t find anything on the two brothers so wasn`t sure if the were kids of the Phillips or not. Thank you for any help with this matter.

Hi Harris

Not entirely sure what you are asking here?

Do you have birth certs for the boys?  Are they located on the 1901 census?

How can we help?

kind regards, Arranroots  ;)

Sorry now that I read it again I`am confused also  ;D The parents came here( US) in 1904 father and 1905 mother and two daughters but a cusin did some research and came up with those two names Richard Joseph 1901 and William Thomas 1902 in Meer, Longton, Staffordshire but they don`t show up over here in the US so what I`am looking for is are those two kids of Richard and Elizabeth Phillips and died or maybe they don`t belong to them at all. I don`t have anything on them but names and year and the place of birth. I hope that helps.

Hello,

There is an entry on the 1901 census for Richard and Emma A Phillips and a two yr old daughter Mary in Longton if that is any help.
Reference RG13/2615 Ed 10 folio 82 p39.
Freebmd.org.uk gives births and deaths for Joseph Richard Philips and William Thomas Phillips in the Stoke district of Staffordshire which covers Longton, but it does not give the parents' names., so may not be the right ones

Names: Glover, Bissell, Gregory, Rigby, Willett, Wright, Taylor, Coleclough ,Wells, Foster, Morris, Weatherer, Spooner, James

Thanks handm for your help I had seen the 1901 census but can`t figure out those two for nothing. The only one of the 7 maybe 9 with these two boys still alive is my Grandma and she doesn`t remember any talk of 2 brothers that died. So I`am not sure what to do with them.

Hello again,

You may need to obtain the certificates to check for the parents of  these boys, or you could ask if someone is able to do a baptism/burial look up for the Longton(Meir) area.
