1841 Reading lookup please
« on: Saturday 15 April 06 13:37 BST (UK) »
Am hoping some one can check the 1841 Reading census for me for the following SEDUNARY family:

Joseph SEDUNARY
Ann
Samuel
Joseph
Ann
Maybe an Edward, and an Elizabeth in the same household

All born Reading and address in 1851 is 125 Friar Street. Don't know if that helps as I know some families moved around like mice!

Thanks
Shanko
:)

Hello Shanko,
Joseph's wife Ann (nee Mattingley) died 23 Jan 1853 and he married my great grand aunt Mary Ann Langley FLOWER (a spinster of Reading) on 1st August 1853 at Christ Church Camberwell.
Most of this family emigrated to South Australia in August 1854 on the vessel 'Lord of the Isles'.
By the time they got to Sth Australia Mary Ann was heavily pregnant and sadly both she and their child died within a month of arrival.
A sad story indeed.

Cep, Thanks for that :) I now know 1841 is on Ancestry so will look for more on there. Thanks again

joboy, Again thanks but I already knew about Mary Ann and baby and yes it is sad. Being in SA myself I can go view originals documents etc and have quite alot on the SEDUNARY families. A cousin of mine married into the family which is why I have them

Hi Shanko,

I'm a decendant of Oliver Sedunary - buried in Broken Hill, NSW - father to Amy, Arthur, Rae & Edna. You said that you had alot of documentation on the Sedunary Family - is it by any chance my ancestors or a different sedunary family?

Hi everyone,

I know this is quite an old thread now, but I am hoping some of you are still reading here.

My husband's family descends from Amy Sedunary, and we have just begun researching her family. Our main question at this point is about Joseph Sedenary/Giuseppe Sedenari who was born in Italy around 1756. Does anyone have any information on his birth or death. I have found his marriage to Ann Stears in 1803, however we can't find any further information on him.

Thank You!

Tennille.
