Anyone any good with FTM 2006? - Completed ~ thanks
« on: Sunday 16 April 06 17:12 BST (UK) »
I have tried looking in help - honest, but no joy!

Is there (and if there is how do I do it?) any sort of report or form on FTM that I can use to note ( a simple tick type thing?) if I have the details of all the applicable census for a particular individual?  ??? ;D...or do I just have to note it in the footnotes (seems a bit laborious to me  :().

I was going to design my own, but hubby spent money on FTM and it seems a bit daft if there is one on there...[seems even more daft if there isn't :( , but that's another story  ;D].

Any help would be much appreciated, but I am a total technotwit, so please treat me simply ;D ;D

Ta muchley

Julie :)

And, no don't laugh...Crump...I think it's great!

And of course, if I ever do manage to do a successful look up it is crown copyright and all that legal stuff!

At the side of each name is a scroll where you can create sources etc. I don't know whether it's the right place but that's where I put items like this. I've created sources for birth, marriage and death certificates and now you have brought it up I'm going to put in where I've found them on the census(es).

I have an old version but there's a little arrow next to the person which says "More".  I can then add notes to that person.

Hi Julie
I have an older version but it probably works the same way.

Click beside the information e. name, birth date, death date.
Click on 'View'  then  'Source'
When the secondary page comes up type in your source e.g.'census 1851';   Parish record;  Birth Cert.
If you have already entered that source for someone else click 'Find Source' on the secondary page and it will offer the list of previous entries.
Once entered an 'S' is displayed alongside the relevant name or date.
To check a previous entry click on the info where the 'S' shows click on 'View'   - 'Source' and the entry is shown.
Sounds complicated but is quite quick once you get used to it.
