It would probably have been Anfield Cemetery, it is only about a 15/ 20 minute walk from Boundary Lane.

Thanks, do you know Boundary Lane well ?, reason I ask is that I live in West Cumbria and do not see myself coming to Liverpool in the near future, but I would very much like to research my great great grandfather, do you think 80A Boundary Lane is still as it was, or has it been since demolished and rebuilt on, I would love a picture if it was

thanks

Hiya,
It was demolished in the 1960's I think, or maybe early 1970's.
St Michaels Church is still there and so is Ogdens which was the tobacco factory, I'm not sure if Ogdens is still producing though.
I know that there were alot of photos taken of Liverpool before they demolished the area, and there may be some in the Archive Room at the record office, I got some of the house and street where I lived in the 60's.
I think they were taken by the City Planners.
You can contact the record office to find out if they actually have anything but it might take them a bit of time to find out as they are really busy there at the moment.
I won't be able to get there for a while myself, but if you haven't had any luck by the time I go I'll have a look for you.

Good luck!

Topics that are locked are usually either look-up offers (you need to start a new thread to ask for a look-up) or they are there for information, such as how to use the board.  The lock prevents Rootschatters adding to the thread.

Does this help?

kind regards, Arranroots  ;)

There is a growing database for Anfield Cemetery, try doing a search http://liverpool-ancestors.co.uk/

Howver, if you have the date of death you could ask the Liverpool Records Office if they can find the burial place for you http://archive.liverpool.gov.uk/

You may find some photographs of the area at http://www.scottiepress.org/main.htm or maybe http://www.mersey-gateway.org/

As for locking a topic, somebody may have done so accidentally, or if there is another reason then one is usually stated, maybe it's just a links topic and don't want a conversation growing from it.  If you can paste the address for the one that you mean, perhaps we could look at it and see why.

You'll also find that some burials have been transcribed and posted on the Liverpool FHS Forum http://www.liverpool-genealogy.org.uk/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=2

If you do a search on that site for "A few Anfield Burials" you will also find some in earlier posts which have shifted down the list because of the dates.

It would probably have been Anfield Cemetery, it is only about a 15/ 20 minute walk from Boundary Lane.
He could possibly have been interred in the Liverpool Necropolis cemetery which was closed in 1898, a public garden was later laid out on the site.  This is situated on the corner of Everton Road and West Derby Road, 5/10 mins from Boundary Lane. This is now in the Everton district of Liverpool.
