Old swansea photos

Does anyone have any pre-war photos of the centre of Swansea around St Mary's church. I'm really looking for:

Calvert Street (Nos 1 and 10 i have census details of family)
Cross Street (Nos 8 and 9 i have census details of family)
Orange Street (No24 furniture shop i have census details of family)

Any help much appreciated

I've been asking about pre-war photos of Swansea since I found this site...(last October). No success yet, - but here's hoping!!!

Yes the problem is that the area i mention was all demolished in 1938 and the St Mary's church grounds extended into it. The quadrant was then built over some of it and after the bombing during the second world war the St Mary's churchyard was lawned over (no doubt losing possible M.I info for people i'm looking for!) There is very little i can find anywhere on the net for these places.

Thanks for posting that Link, - I'd put it somewhere & couldn't find it!

It is very good, I found Welcome Street, Oxford Street & St. Helen's Road on there, - all addresses lived at by my Swansea rellies.

Many thanks for your help. I have actually been to the Swansea archives in person and am planning to go back when i can take time off work (i only live 15 or so miles from it) I think i will do some photographic searching when i go next.

I've joined the yahoo group and posted a message there. The group has some nice photos and some directory info mainly for the High Street, Swansea
