I am looking anyone connected to the Lane family in Hertfordshire who were nursarymen and grew apples.
They had a variety called Lanes Perfection after their daughter Elizabeth who married William Harris in Kent c1838.

Do you have any idea where in Herts they lived? Lea valley was famous for its nurseries so that could be a possibility!

Looks from your other thread that it could be Berkhampsted which is over in west Herts near Hemel Hempstead. Information may be included in the local history of that area. I will have a look.
