KAVANAGH - KENNEDY
« on: Friday 21 April 06 11:52 BST (UK) »
My great great uncle was Arthur Kavanagh and he was born in Dublin.

He emigrated to England and served in the Boer War and WW1 in the South Irish Horse.

He later got married to Kathleen Kennedy (who was also born in Dublin).  They had four children, three boys and a girl.   Their daughter died young.

One of his sons, Arthur Daniel, served in WW2 on board HMS Searcher.  He was a petty officer.   Unfortunately, he died on 15 March 1945 aged 24 and is buried in the Royal Naval Cemetery, Orkney.   It is possible that their other two sons may still be alive.

Any ideas???

According to family history, Arthur and Kathleen settled in the Manchester area and as far as I know, I still have relatives living there.

The only thing is I only know the name of one of their sons and he died in WW2.   Their other two sons may be still alive or if not, they may have family.

I'd love to know if this is true.
