Hi Sueliz  :)

Welcome to RootsChat  :D  :D

How can we help you regarding Elizabeth? What do you already have?

I can't seem to find her anywhere but on the 1871 census so far but I'm sure others will be able to help as soon as you tell us what to search for.

Tanja  :)

OK, I see Elizabeth gives her birthplace as Coverdale in 1881 and Bedale in 1861.

would like to find Elizabeth Lofthouse before 1861 can't seem to find her on the 1851 or1841 census. her first daughteer, mary, was born in 1855 so presumably she had married George Atkinson prior to that date. joseph born in 1858, Emma in 1870 and Minnie ( my maternal grandmother) in 1876. She died in 1887 of rheumatic fever. Her husband had died a few years earlier All the children were born in Bradford. Would like to find her family- in either Masham, Bedale or Coverdale

I think it might help if you could find the marriage because then you will have her father's name and that gives us a much better chance of finding them on a census.  You can search all BMDs free on www.ancestry.co.uk at the moment.  Choose the Beta option.    Start from Mary's birth and work back.   An evening's entertainment for you!   have fun.
