1901 look up please

Have traced Cecil William Beale born July - Sept 1899 Vol 2a Page 782 - Tunbridge.

Would love to trace on 1901 Census to identify via other family members whether this is my relative.

Fingers crossed, mother is Isabella (possibly Bryden).

Thanks for that Tricia.

Clearly it is the right family, as Crendle is near Cranborne (Head's birthplace) and Zebedee was the maiden name of Samuel Beale's wife who died in 1900.

Would you be able to trace Isabella Bryden born 1872 in the 1901 census.
It gets a bit confusing as Samuel and Isabella may well have married in Yorkshire in 1903, but have no idea on the Yorkshire connection

age would appear right, family remembers her as Scotish but then this is the same family that knew nothing of Cecil ! Am awaiting details of marriage certificate which should help.

Will certainly send off for Cecil's details now that it would appear to be correct.

What is strange is that I can't find her in 1891 or 1881. The nearest match in 1881 was born in Durham.

Will be interesting to see her father's details.

I think with the information you have provided, it may be that she is not the mother of Cecil, but a step mother. When Mary Zebedee died in 1900, 3 kids came back to live in Cranborne. Clearly he remained in the area of his father, and it would appear that he then moved back to his fathers after his second marriage.

It is strange that the 3 kids never really discussed that they had a brother !

Hope I have traced Henry Zebedee to Christchurch in 1881, and that is where Mary was born so may be brother and sister hence nephew.
