Manitoba 1891 & 1911 census
« on: Thursday 27 April 06 11:54 BST (UK) »
I am looking for my Abigail relatives, believed to be in Marquette district of Manitoba from about 1890, think there is just the father in 1891 but with his family in 1911.  Any help would be appreciated. Thank - you.  Cyril

Hi Cyril,

If you go to www.automatedgenealogy.com there is the 1901, 1906 (Praire's only) and 1911 census for free.  There is a Frederic and his family living in Dauphin, Swan River.  He lists his year of immigration as 1891, from England and born c1876 with a wife Eliza.

Many thanks for the references to Canadian Census.  Found transcribed details
but I cannot find a reference as to where born or details as to immigration. You mention 1891. How do you know ?

Cyril

Hi Cyril,

If you look at the original 1911 census, the question is asked.  Looking at the automated genealogy site, you have to go to the top of the page and click on the screen to see the original and then all the information is there, occupation, birth, immigration, etc.
