Fordington marriage Jan 18, 1830 - Thomas FITT to Charlotte WILSON

It would help me enormously if someone was able to look at this event and see whether Thomas and Charlotte were married by Licence (which indicates the possibility of further research.....).  Alternatively, who were their witnesses? (hopefully names indicating possible relatives).

Ideally, I would like to find out whether there is a connection with the Barracks in Fordington (ie. was Thomas a soldier?).  Charlotte was apparently born in Scotland about 1811 according to later census returns AND ---   Thomas was in the County Gaol of Warwickshire by 1841!

Now you know why I want to find out more about him.

As there seemed no response to my posting, I made the decision to contact Dorset's Record Office this week and order, at the cost of £5, a photocopy of the entry.

For £5, it told me absolutely nothing.  Even the witnesses were a couple of SMITHs.  -  No offence to those with that surname, but they must know how unhelpful that piece of information is.  The marriage was by Banns.

So, COMPLETED!
