The "marriage" on the IGI in 1865 is just a guess based on the age of the daughter in 1881 ... it says "about 1865" so has no firm basis.
By 1891, Mary WAITE was widowed and living with her married daughter Mary SELBY (27). FreeBMD shows that William SELBY married Mary WAITE in 1883. Sarah WAITE (25) was also there.
There is a John WAITE (labourer) age 37 in 1871 with a wife Mary and children - but no daughter Sarah - but there is a Mary age 5. Perhaps this John WAITE died in 1890 age 61.
Having looked at the 1881 image, John WAITE's age was 52 not 62 - the enumerator failed to "cross" the "5", as he also did with Mary's age.
Anyway ... I'm rambling. The starting point should be that John was NOT age 62 in 1881.
