Hi Gadget

Thanks for that, but I have a problem.

A while ago I asked for a 1841 lookup for Wrexham and I had a reply with the names of the people I wanted living in Yorke St, Wrexham. How can this be?

The Wrexham Town Census for 1841 is available ,but I am told it is only available on Disc. There is a "Jsl" who is a contributor to this Forum, who has this Census.

Hi Erika

William is correct.  IU forgot that the Town census was found, I think last year or the year before, by a member of the Clwyd Family History Society and is available via them or possibly via the person William mentioned.
It is only for the town of Wrexham though. Large parts of the area including Ruabon, Cefn Mawr, Gresford, etc. are missing.

Hi William and Gadget

Thank you both for your replies and yes "Jsl" was the person who did my original lookup. I think they will be kept quite busy now when people discover they can't do their own searches!!

Good luck all
Erika
PS Glad you mentioned Gresford as being another missing, I'd have been going round in circles again with that

It just so happens Erika that the Parish Records secretary of Clwyd FHS,has posted a message to the Clwyd Mailing List at Rootsweb this afternoon. She stated that a copy of the Wrexham Town Census was found in a Local Second Hand Bookshop, and it was deposited at Ruthin Records Office, and it has since been transcribed in Booklet form by Clwyd FHS.
