Sarah Troth
« on: Tuesday 02 May 06 13:43 BST (UK) »
Hi there,
Can some kind soul possibly help me with this brickwall
Sarah Scriven was born in Alveley, Nr Bridgnorth around 1791.
She later leaves the village and marries a man surnamed Troth - living somewhere in the Worfield area.
But this is where the thread goes dead........I can't find any Troth in the 1841 or 51 in that area ( or do I need a new pair of glasses ???:o
Sarah later re-surfaces listed as a widow living with her brother and family back  in Alveley in 1871.

Any help much appreciated  :) :) :) :)

Hi Margaret,

On the 1861 census, I have Sarah TROUGH, age 81, born in Alveley, as an Inmate in the Union Workhouse, Bridgnorth.

RG9/1849 1+ Enum. District 1. Folio 9A.

That would seem to confirm the age that Jackie provided.

Gwynne.

Many thanks
oh dear- I am confused now.
If Sarah was born about  1781 - her mother would have only have been 12 when she was giving birth  !

Will keep you posted !
