Latton marriage
« on: Thursday 04 May 06 19:04 BST (UK) »
If anyone has access to Latton marriage records for 1823 I would appreciate details of the maiden of Sarah who married William ARMER. Sarah was born c1802 in Gt Parndon.
Many thanks
Jon

I only had 10 minutes to do this look up:-
Essex RO ref Latton D/P 344/1/5 M 1813-1842 fiche 1 of 1
I searched the whole fiche for ARMER males only (twice because it's small) and found only this:
page 16 entry 47
James ARMER otp bach married Elizabeth HARVEY otp spinster
16 Feb 1833
Both signed register
Witnesses George FELSTED
                  Sarah TREDLE? (or TWEDLE?)
Both signed

Many thanks for your time and effort, much appreciated. Since submitting the entry I realise there is a variant spelling as ARMOR as opposed to ARMER.
Regards

Hi, If I had seen ARMOR as well I would have mentioned it :)

I sent a bit more time on this looking for any female ARMER/ARMOR marriages which I mentioned I had not had time for earlier. It may be a good job that I did for I might have been in danger (possibly) of misleading you. Looking at the same fiche:
page 11 entry 33
William JENNINGS of Harlow bachelor married Hannah ARMOR by banns 14 Jan 1826
Both signed the register (Hannah seems to have signed as ARMER not ARMOR)
Witnesses were George ARMER ?(who seems to have signed as ARMER)
                           Jeremiah CLARKE
Whilst I'm at it I also noticed 3 marriages involving
Ann HELMORE (1824)
George HELMER (1830)
Elizabeth HELMER (1832)
The 2 of these who signed the register did so using those names but I thought I'd mention it in case it is a variant of ARMER - pronunciation being a very dodgy thing at times.

Very many thanks for those details, was not aware of Hannah's marriage, will try and obtain Wm Jennings details from 1841/51census. George the witness was Hannah's brother just one of EIGHTEEN siblings !!.
Regards
Jon
