Can anyone help.  Trying to find details of a marriage between Sophia Kalies and David Thomas and also sons of that marriage

The name Kalies is unusual in Glamorgan the name is not listed at all in earlier Glamorgan census returns (1841 / 61) and the name only seems apparant in the Merthyr Tydfil region after 1888, even in 1881 using the national index for the entire U.K, the name only bears one match but to the variation Kales. Perhaps the name has changed or been misspelt in the records (perhaps beginning with a C, instead of a K etc), or the name comes from abroad? The name does seems prevolent in Germany, Prussia regions.
