Rochford confusion - Huttley
« on: Friday 05 May 06 17:55 BST (UK) »
My third great grandfather, William Redgrave Huttley is mentioned in land records  as being the son of Samuel Huttley and Sarah Green, born 1787 in Essex (didn't take source of land records, silly me).  William died on 16 June 1815 in Hawkwell and I have his will.  I also have the will of William Redgrave, dated 1809, giving his wife, his "wife's daughter" Sarah and her grandson, William Huttley.  I find this confusing and haven't found anywhere else I can locate records.  I have his wife, Isabelle Bragg Huttley and her iinformation from all census records.  Are there any other records that would give information on this family?  Any info would be appreciated.  Thanks, Jackie

Have you looked at the parish registers?

Hi:  Thanks for the advice.  I have looked at all of the Parish Records available through familysearch and Ancestry.com.  and through the Essex Record office up until about 5 years ago.  Haven't tried since then.  Are there additional parish records?   If so, do you have access?  If so, I shall try and think of more specific questions.  Thanks Jackie

Hi, I believe the only records available in the IGI for Rochford are the baptisms for Independent Church(es) 1768-1837. I don't know what is available on ancestry.com and as you have already looked at the registers available at Essex RO I can't think of anything else - except, possibly, neighbouring parishes if you have exhausted the Rochford info
