Lost Heslop.
« on: Saturday 06 May 06 16:10 BST (UK) »
I'm researching the Heslop family from Swaledale/ Arkengarthdale. I have traced my line back to the late 17th.century. I have a contact in America who had some false information on a John Heslop who she considered to be an early ancestor. However this proved to be incorrect and I am trying to find a John Heslop born about 1809, who sailed to America about 1830 and settled in Wisconsin. Any help would be gratefully received!!

The IGI has a John Heslop baptised in Grinton 19 November 1808 son of Matthew.

Could this be him?  Grinton is in Swaledale.

Thanks, Susan, I have already got this John in my tree and, unfortunately, he's not the one who went to America. Thanks again for your interest .. Best wishes. Ron H.
