Richard Forshaw sailor in Hesketh Banks

Hi All,
I have a Richard Forshaw born in1836c Hesketh Banks Lancs. He married Elizabeth Hodgson/Reynolds in 1858 in Preston, This Richard later became a brewer. I found on his marriage cert' Richard's father was also a Richard Forshaw a sailor. I have been unable to find either of these Richard Forshaws in the 41, 51 or 61 censuses. I now wonder if they could have been at sea, or in port on a vessel. Any ideas how I can find them?

living at Hesketh with Becconsall, Ormskirk, Lancashire

Thanks very much Ricky, I'm glad you came up with that one too. It is the one I think is most likely to be him. I just don't know how I am going to trace his father Richard Forshaw snr as a sailor he could be anywhere. Richard Forshaw jnr's birth year will be just out of registration period, so I will not be able to tie his parents together there. I suppose I need to find a marriage of Richard to a Jane to prove this one. Many Thanks.
