Missing information on Hannah Wilson SCHOFIELD

My great grandmother (mother's father's mother) was Hannah Wilson SCHOFIELD born in Middlesbroughj in 1876 (9d 622).

Apart from her marriage to Joseph Bedford HOWSE in 1895 (9d 966) and her birth she seems to have disappeared!

Can anyone assist with who her parents were?

Without the parental and address information from the birth and marraige certs, then you're going to struggle to confirm anything. I think you're going to have to buy one or the other really.

Her father was Francis Howse (born approx 1850) and her mother Susan Bedford.  I have a bit more info on the Howse side of things, but not on the Bedfords.

Something isn't right here  Hannah's surname was Schofield?

So how can HER father be Francis Howse?

Do you have her at home with her parents in 1881 or 91?

Can you post it here,maybe one of us can trace her family back a bit farther for you.

Only if you have Joseph's age, occupation, birthplace, marriage certificate details, kids born up till 1901/1902, or even the family on census in 1901 maybe....

No I've got quite a bit of information on the Howse family but nothing on Hannah Wilson Schofield.  As I said in my initial posting, all I can find on her is her birth and her marriage to Joseph Bedford Howse.   No census information at all, I'm afraid.

Looks like my mum is going to have to go to Middlesbrough Registry Office and buy the birth certificate!

The more info you can provide about either of the couple,the more chance there is of one of finding her before marriage- and therefore her roots.

It has often been known for marriage witnesses to provide the clues too.
They sometimes turn out to be married sisters with unusual christian names 
So much easier to pinpoint than the common ones !!! 

So as Pauine says- the more info you can give us the more chances of finding her.

My head hurts now. I just spent the better part of a day trolling through the 1881 census for Great Grandma Hannah Wilson Schofield, and I CAN'T FIND HER ANYWHERE!

She was born in Middlesbrough on 30 November 1876 9d 622) and married Great Grandad Joseph Bedford Howse in 1895 (or thereabouts) in Middlesbrough.  (His parents were Francis Howse (b 1850 Netherton) and Susannah Bedford (b1853 Hartshill - or Yorkshire depending on which census result you read!))

Hannah and Joseph appear to have had only one child - my grandather Francis who was born in October 1895.


So where was she in 1881? Why can't I find her?
