 looking for any descendants of Mungo, he died a pauper tailor. He married a Mary McSwene and had 1 son (only 1 that I know of) John who married Susan Nivens and they certainly had a healthily number of offspring! Have posted on SP already and found one of John and Susan's ggggchldrn, which was fantastic. Hoping for similar result ::)

Can you post any details of John Campbell - where and when he was born?

This would help greatly and help us to narrow down dates, areas etc.

thanks for welcome. Info on John as follows. Born Glasgow, birth not registered (at least I can't find it!) married in Edinburgh 13 Dec 1861, occupation wood turner.
Children as follows: Mary, John,James, Catherine, Joseph Archibald, Mungo, Agnes, William (my ggfthr), Susan, Charles, Harriet and Neil.
Hoping that someone from one of these lines is looking in, fingers crossed!
