Mary Ann Morgan

I would be grateful if someone could check the parish registers of Hursley in Hampshire. I am looking for the baptismal record for Mary Ann Morgan, daughter of William Morgan, born1828.

I can't find any Morgan baptisms in Hursley. 

Might the family have been non-conformist?  Where did your information come from?

Thankyou Nell.  I have conflicting details for Mary Ann Morgan. Her marriage ( at Alverdiscott Parish Church, Devon, 1850 to Lewis Lewis) gives her place of residence - not birth - as Alverdiscott and her father William Morgan as a farmer. Family Search has a record for her born in 1828 at Hurlsey Hampshire, but the 1851 census has her born at Hursley, Herefordshire (1826). I've searched 1841, 1851 and 1861 hoping to find her family at either Alverdiscott or Hursley - with no success.
I can find no record of a Hursley in Herefordshire so am assuming that Hampshire is correct.

I will post a request on the Devonshire site and maybe someone could check for her birth there.

The record you have found on FamilySearch is a member submitted one - treat with extreme caution.  It does not come from an extracted parish record.  This may be the result of some speculation or based on information which has not been verified.

I suggest you find her on another census to see what it says for her birthplace - better on two more census if possible.

Nell - I'm always careful with Family Seach records! I can't find her on another census to check as she left for Australia in 1856. Thanks for your help - I've posted to the Devonshire pages.
