Nottingham Bamfords

I'm looking to contact anyone looking into the Bamford family based in Nottingham. Most of my Bamfords were involved in the lace industry with a couple of miners thrown in for luck! Have managed to get back as far as 1822 with Edward Bamford who married Sarah Tupman from Pinxton Derbyshire. Other Bamfords include James Bamford b.1856, Everard Bamford b1884 another Everard b1909.
The family name has not been passed onto this generation!!

Would be interested to compare trees with anyone who might be related.

Looks like they may be a connection with my line. I have tracked Edward through the censuses and I believe he is the son of the brother of my 4 x gt grandfather born in Alfreton.

Edward lived to the ripe old age of 63 and was a blacksmith in his early life and a stonekeeper at a colliery when he was 60. Have hopefully attached a rough outline of what I know would be interested in any info about your side of the family. Have you got any photos?

I am a decedent of Gilbert Henry Bamford brother of Everard. I have all the details if you are looking for them.

Welcome to Rootschat.

The Edward Bamford in my tree was born at Alfreton 1820 to Edward & Mary(nee Ball) who married in South Normanton in 1814.  I will check my records later and get back to you.
